2020: Obedience and Fulfillment by Sabrina Santiago

Two thousand twenty!

A new year, a new beginning,

a new creature in Christ❤️

In all honesty though, never did I think I’d end up saying that considering how many times I’ve mistakenly wrote 2019 on all of my customers receipts... but I’m sure we all have experienced that in these past few weeks, haven’t we? ;D

Gosh, it feels like forever!

My first blog of a new decade

(I will be writing more soon so please bare with me!) not to mention, we are already into our fourteenth day of the new year;

how crazy is that? Already two weeks into the first month and time is already flying!

Whether you have took the time to make

a New Year's resolution check-list, or a mental visionary of your future, this year is a new year, a fresh start with so much ahead!

I believe this year will be a year full of hope and fulfillment, but not only that.

I believe it will also be a year of obedience.

I truly believe that so many wonderful, extraordinary things will unfold before our eyes this new year, it’s exciting.

Especially if we are faithful and obedient to God and His word. It’s only true!

Luke 11:28 (KJV)

  • “But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.”

In this scripture, Jesus was replying back to a lady from within the crowd he was speaking too.

In other words, if you are faithful to Him and His word, He is faithful to you and His blessings.

But not only should we follow His word for an expectation out of it, but we must live by it, practicing it in our personal everyday lives as Christian men and women today.

It starts with us.

When you think of a new year you might think of new set goals, right?

Keep that in mind.

Personally, I have found the year of 2019 to be a year of growth and increase.

In the beginning of 2019, I wrote down so many different goals and changes that I was strongly convinced to live by and stick with in that new year, and guess what?

None of them but 1 actually happened.

My goals and plans I had written on paper was quickly erased by God lol

But now looking back, I now see what He was doing, and I absolutely have no complaints at all.

I am so thankful for a God who works things out for our good.

The blessings and the doors that God had opened up in that span of twelve months truly woke me up to realize and remember  that we serve a powerful living God!

He is not just any God, He is the one true living God! The everlasting father and the prince of peace. MY God and YOUR God.

Not only did He provide right on time

(many times actually), and rewarded me graciously, but the doors He has opened up in my life to serve Him wholeheartedly, while also helping others, is the most amazing and fulfilling ministry

I have encountered and all I have to say is to God be all the glory, because without Him, none of it would have taken place!

Thank you, Jesus!❤️

My point is, Resolution lists are fine and totally acceptable to make. We should definitely set goals in our life because that is what positions our minds to move forward in life, but honestly, spiritually speaking, planning your own life and expecting it to go as your written ideas on a piece of paper will not always be where God plans to take you.

Personally speaking, I am so thankful for God’s correction upon our lives. Without that, I fear that none of us would even care or move forward on the right path that He has for us, instead our eyes would be blinded by our own flesh.

His will for our lives is to lead and guide us on the path that He has planned for us specifically, but it takes us to be obedient to His voice. It takes our own selves to recognize His voice and to act upon it. Nobody likes to be corrected, I know I don’t, but His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts.

But, His plan for our life is to prosper us and to give us a hopeful future, not to condemn or to destroy us.

That’s clearly the enemy.

God gives us the desires of our hearts

and rewards those who diligently seek Him truthfully in all things!

Psalm 37:4

  • Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Hebrews 11:6(KJV)

  • But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Isaiah 55:8-9(KJV)

  • For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

  • For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Jeremiah 29:11(KJV)

  • For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

I believe you are all capable of reaching your fullest in God.

In who He calls you to be.

He is who He says YOU are. And if that means erasing some of your ideas and taking you a different direction, then he will do it, trust me. Not because He is cruel, but because He loves us that much to correct us from derailing out.

He loves you and wants to unveil the powerful call upon your life; along with His miraculous blessings and mighty favor.

Please don’t bypass His voice.

This isn’t to tell you all that planning and making goals aren’t necessary, they are in deed very necessary! Set your goals and your plans! Matter of fact, we do live by decency and by order!

I just want you all to know that if you’re currently discouraged about something not going as you distinctly planned, or you’re stressed out because you haven’t  set new goals for yourself this year, or maybe you still don’t have a goal to think about, don’t freak out.

You are not failing at life because of that.

We have to keep an open mind to the possibilities that God can do beyond what our secluded minds may imagine.

Plans or no plans, let Him lead you.

Let Him speak to you.

Obedience is better than sacrifice.

~ I hope you all are having a great new year! :)
