Hey, Y'all! So happy you are here! Hope your Wednesday is going well. This week we are going to dive into a topic which is perfect for the month of LOVE. That’s right, I refer to February as the month of LOVE because I believe it 150% is. I say it’s the month of LOVE regardless of the fact I don’t have a significant other and honestly haven’t had a valentine in the last 3 years.

So cue Tory Kelly “Dear No One” and get ready to dive into today’s post where we discuss being single.
First of all, if you haven’t heard the song I just referenced PLEASE take a moment and check it out because it is the sweetest song ever!!! It will literally melt your heart especially if you’re a single guy or gal.

After you’ve done that we can actually get down to business about feeling LOVED even when you're single. While this may seem like a cliche topic I think it’s so important we talk about it because it really is something SO many gals can relate to. When it’s February or honestly any month of the year it can feel lonely being single and THAT IS OKAY. I promise you there are women and men all over the world feeling the same way. Everyone wants to have that special someone but it’s important that we are intentional in finding that special someone. It would be so easy to run out there and date just anyone but it is not the way you want to find love.

God even desires for you to find that special someone, in Genesis 2:18 it says “It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper fit for him”. You see he has it in the plans for you to have a husband (special someone) because he believes it is better that you are not alone! That means THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE FOR YOU AND MOST IMPORTANTLY GOD MADE THEM SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU! That’s right, the bible doesn’t say it isn’t good for you to be alone and to go out and find your Joe- it says it is not good that man should be alone I WILL MAKE HIM A HELPER FIT FOR HIM. Literally, God says he will make you a helper (special someone) JUST FOR YOU! Isn’t that exciting knowing God has it all worked out! It is exciting to know you are not just going to have someone but literally a custom creation which GOD MADE FOR YOU! We just have to be patient and wait for God to send us that person. I know the waiting can be miserable especially in the month of February (trust me sista I know how it feels) but find other ways to celebrate love because it’s important God sees we are trusting him in the waiting. I once heard a quote that said: “if the door is closed, praise him in the hallway”.

In Psalms 37:4 it says Delight thyself also in the LORD, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. He knows your heart so if you’re giving him your all and living for him he will give you exactly what you need. We have to remember it may not be exactly when we want it and that can be challenging in a world full of the instant gratification-be patient. There is worth in the wait, settling for less will set you up for heartache in the future. Be patient for God hears your prayers and knows your heart.

Somewhere God is preparing your “someone” and when you finally get to meet him you will be thankful for the wait.

So today and every day of feeling single, waiting for your special someone keep praying and thank God for what you have now. God’s timing is ALWAYS best!

Happy February Skirt Society readers! Get your gal pals and celebrate with all things pink because you are SO LOVED!
