Worship

Worship is not only a physical activity done for God, but it is a lifestyle we choose to live for God.

Many times we have the wrong mindset when it comes to worship. We think that we must have to actively jump around or do movement of some sort for something to be considered worship when really, worship is loving God with all of our hearts, souls, and minds (see Matt. 22:37 NKJV).

Loving God with all of our hearts is loving God in what some might say, “our emotions.” The heart is where our feelings and emotions flow through and because God gave them to us for a reason, we are called to use them in return to loving Him, not just in use for our natural behavior.

The heart is where we feel things, it is where our sensitivity is present, and our sensitivity to the presence of God is important and should never be taken advantage of.

Loving God with all of our soul is loving God in our Spirits. The Bible says in John 4:24, “
God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” As Holy Ghost filled Apostolics, we are to love God with the Spirit that resinates inside of us with a true worship, and that is what is being spoken in the verse above. The spiritual realm calls for a sensitivity and when worship takes place, our spirits are vulnerable to the sensitivity of the spirit realm, and that is what is required of us. We are to worship in spirit and in truth-our vulnerability.

Loving God with all of our minds is loving Him in a mindset of knowing who He is. Our minds are a lot different from our hearts and in the Bible it does say that our hearts are deceivers at times, but because our minds are equipped to work differently than our heart, we are to use it in an accord of knowing who God is and acting upon that through our hearts. Our minds is a powerful place, and to love God with it is to yield our knowledge of who He is while experiencing the aftermath of that, which is worship in all ways. When one part of the body activates, the others participate.

Worshiping God is vital, it is a part of our lifestyle as a Chrsitian. In everything that we do for God and in everything we do in our lives should revolve around pleasing Him. We explained what worshipping God is in heart, soul and mind and with that, we can better understand what is required of our worship. Worshipping God is simply pushing away our pride and sacrificing our best to the King because He is worthy.

In everything we do for God, our worship is required above all, and He is pleased by it.
